Multiple public reports of coverage from Yukon Emergency Medical Service in Dawson City seemed inconsistent with the lived experience of community members. We had heard multiple reports of people calling 911 for an ambulance for themselves or their loved ones and one not being available. We were surprised to hear the frequency of these reports if there was only a 15% coverage deficit and this led us on a journey to clarify the data. In order to get a more complete picture of the coverage data, we completed a data request under Yukon's Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Our analysis of the data is presented in this report.
